Like the collection itself, the girls she adorns stand out as inspiring, surprising and slightly mysterious. The directive in Amber's vision is upholding your own individuality and challenging conventional dress codes. One necklace can make a tee shirt and jeans just as sexy and stylish as an evening gown. The ways in which her pieces are unabashedly styled and worn are as imperative to her as the pieces themselves. Amber's love for contrasts is reflected throughout the collection with juxtaposing notes of street and femme, with a myriad of historical references.
As a native Texan, Amber was born and raised in Dallas, where she attended Southern Methodist University. By her freshman year (2005), Amber had already designed, created and sold the first collection of her label Amber Elise, which was predominately one-of-a-kind, handmade pieces. She knows fashion; an expertise fine-tuned through her work at high-end women's ready-to-wear store, Studio Sebastian, internships in Los Angeles, where she styled for various fashion and celebrity photographers, and finally New York City, where she worked as a fit model and global wholesale intern for designer Thakoon. The shopgirl and retail buyer turned influential tastemaker has achieved cult status with the launch of her eponymous label, Amber Venz. Amber's collections prove she is more than a designer; she is an artist and a visionary.
